Some sweet ladies from our church hosted a shower for Jaclyn this past Sunday. Here are a few shots. I am scheduled to be induced on Monday, June 22nd. Hopefully, it won't be six MORE months before I post again. Our family is doing well. Justin completed sixth grade and will turn thirteen this fall. Jailyn completed 4th grade and will be ten in the fall. Jonathan is almost walking and talking and signing like crazy. He will be two July 28th. AND...last but not least...Jaclyn Grace is looking great and weighed in at 6 lbs. 3 oz. last Friday at the doctor's office. We can't wait to see her face-to-face. We took our house off the market after much prayer and are beginning a remodel and completion of our basement. Our two oldest kids will go down there, and we will eventually put the babies upstairs in Justin and Jailyn's current rooms. There is much to do, but we are excited about it all.

The bear - no, I didn't take this picture. Guess who did...

My whole family got to surprise my daddy by meeting in Gatlinburg for a few days. We had loads of fun. Our first encounter was with a bear that came right up to our house the first afternoon we arrived.

Lange and I took the kids to meet my mom and dad in West Virginia for an overnight visit. Then, my mom and dad took all THREE back to NC for a few days to give Lange and I some time to prepare for the imminent arrival of Jaclyn. We stopped in Kenova, West Virginia - the home of Lange's new buddy Michael W. Smith - at an old soda shoppe. It was a lot of fun.

Joy Prom

Justin with some new friends

Daddy and Jonathan

We had the privilege of attending the Joy Prom - an annual event sponsored by our campus church for young adults with Down syndrome and various special needs. It is so neat to see how God uniquely placed us here "for such a time as this." Our church began hosting this event before Jonathan was born.

Our wonderful friends the Balsam's invited the kids over for an Easter egg hunt and cake. They had a blast. We also managed to get some shots of the kids in our yard in their "Easter clothes."

Zoo trip

We got to spend a fun day at the zoo with our friend Lesley and her precious son Eli. He is too cool in his shades. Jonathan loved seeing the animals and made appropriate animal "sounds" - rather loudly at times - for every animal he saw.

The Varsity

No trip through Georgia would be complete for our family without a milkshake stop at The Varsity in Atlanta. Even Jonathan got in on the fun.

Classic picture of Grandaddy

We headed down to Georgia for few days after the choir seminar to see Lange's grandaddy and some of our dear friends and relatives - the Twibell family. Here are a few of my favorite pics from that excursion.

Trip to South Carolina/Gatlinburg

Right around the first of March, we went to Florence, SC to see Lange's brother's family and participate in a choir retreat at their church for the weekend. It was lots of fun. We surprised the kids and stopped overnight in Gatlinburg on the way at a new hotel/indoor waterpark called "Wilderness in the Smokies." It was awesome!

Call it "nesting...."

I don't know what has gotten into me, but I feel like I HAVE to update the blog before the baby is born - even though it has been five months since I last attempted this. Let's see....where to begin...
